Christmas tree and ornaments

Update 30 Nov 08 I added a few Christmas props to the download including a Present and a few decorative bows. If you Downloaded the zip on or before November 30th you may want to download it again to get the additional props.

Merry Christmas

I made this Christmas Tree as demonstration for a series of video tutorials about modeling, texturing and rendering. After finishing the tutorial I decided to touch up the model and textures a bit then "Poserize" it so those that didn't feel up to making one themselves could just download the finished product. While my tutorial is a bit cheezy, you may still want to watch it and see how easy this Christmas tree was to make. The videos move fast but I tried to make it so that those who have never done 3d modeling before could follow along.

This zip file contains Christmas Tree and ornaments props for Daz|Studio and Poser. Mat Poses, D|S shaders, textures, displacement maps and UV templates are also included.

PP2 Format for Daz|Studio and Poser

This prop was tested in Poser7 and Daz|Studio 1.7 - 2.3 but it should work fine in earlier versions. If you experience any problems with this 3d model please send me an email to let me know so I can fix it.

While I love Carrara, I am not sure how well the tree prop will work in it. The realisim of the tree relies heavily on displacement. I feel Daz|Studio handles micro displacement much better than does Carrara... Maybe I am just missing something hehe. The new bows and Christmas present should work just fine in Carrara 5+.
