Milanese Armour from the Back.
Here you can see the back of the Milanese suit of armour. Many people ask me why most suits of armour have no protection for the groin or back of the legs. The reason is most full suits of armour displayed in museums or shown in books are equestrian armour. There is really no need to cover these areas as they are protected by the horse and saddle.
