| Rusty Pliers V 0.0.1.2 |
| Description |
|
I made this as part of a discussion on the Daz forums. I was trying to figure out a way of making a figure act like a smart prop. I made a number of test items and this is one of those tests. The goal is to get a figure, that uses ERC, to automatically load parented to another figure's hand yet still allow access to the ERC dials. These pliers work to a degree but you have to hunt for the ERC in Poser (They are accessible on the body1 node of whichever figure you had selected when you loaded the pliers.) The concept works perfectly in Daz|Studio but does not in Carrara. If you find a better solution I would love to hear about it. You can add a message in the forum link above or send me an email. This zip file contains a pair of pliers figure for Daz|Studio Carrara and Poser. Textures and bump maps are also included. The pliers should load automatically in the right hand of Daz3d's Michael 4 when using Poser or in Daz Studio. The material settings I used suck so you will probably want to adjust them. |

All folders contained in this zip archive should contain correct folders to mimic Poser mapped
directories. Extract the zip archive to a Poser mapped directory usually C:\Program Files\e frontier\poser7)
Because this was intended only as a test and it uses code experimentation, I made it very quickly and it isn't anything too special hehe.
This item was tested in Daz|Studio 2 and 3, Carrara7 and Poser7 but behaves it differently in each application. It should still be usable in each of them with a little adjustment though.

The whole idea of this was solely for experimentation. I wanted anyone who felt like experimenting with it to have the ability to share their
solution/code. As such, you are welcome to use this figure, the textures or the .cr2 in any way you like. You can render it (private or commercial),
edit it, share it, whatever makes you happy. No credit needed or expected. However, if you find a better solution please let me know :)
While I can't see how any of these files could possibly cause any damage to a computer we all know there is no way to predict every eventuality when dealing with software so I assume no responsibility for the use/misuse of these files. Oh, and as every other software disclaimer says... Don't use this software to run life support computers LOL! Please consider the files contained in this zip archive as Public Domain. If you get rich off of it somehow feel free to buy me a beer :) Happy Rendering |
