New Spaudler design!
I was looking through some photos of original pieces and saw a slightly different spaudler design and thought I would make some. The photos I have don't attribute which museum the originals are in but I believe they are either at The Tower of London or at Leeds. These are much like the first design I made but the lames are slightly smaller. I feel it, along with a few other slight changes, makes these spaudlers look a little sleeker. I hope you like the new design

I about 70% of the people who contact me have expressed that they would like armour for SCA, Adrian Empire or similar fighter group. One common request is for armour that is historically accurate in shape and function but at a mid-range price. This is my first attempt to specifically fill that market and if well received I will try to keep these regularly in stock for fast delivery.

These arms are bassed on various antique pieces from the late 15th century but have had a few subtle details omitted in order to speed the making and bring the price down to about half of what custom highly accurate arms would run. One of the differences from high end custom arms are that I used machine made rivets, gromets and buckles rather than hand making them. The lames of the spaudlers lack some of the hard faced hammer marks on the inside that high end shoudlers would have. These have a bright satin "brushed" finish which everyone who has seen them in person has told me that they even prefer it over the shine of my high end pieces :)

Note that each piece of these arms is intended to be laced to an arming doublet keeping with historical Gothic design. The pieces, however, can be laced together as shown in the second photo so that you don't need an arming doublet. You will need something to lace the top tab of the shoulders to though.
