Blackened, German Gothic Armour.

Blackened steel, brass.

Blackened Gothic Armour

This suit of armour is a loose extrapolation from many German originals of the late 15th century. The suit was to be used for jousting and made to the customers specifications. It is very heavy due to the thickness of the steel but it should last a number of lifetimes.

The finish on this suit is called "black oxide" and is a very durable dyeing of the steel. It was very common for historical armours to be blued or blackened though the antique methods used then to achieve this look were different then ours. The brass trim on the stark, shiny background really makes for quite a striking look.
