Embossed Italian Horse Armour.

Late 16th century style.
Aluminium

Inspired by the works of 16 century master armourer Filippo Negroli, I just had to make some embossed armour. This armour for a horses head (called a chanfron, shaffron, chaffron or shaffrein) was made of thick high strength aluminium yielding a piece that is very light weight yet strong enough to last many lifetimes. Since never in my experience has a horse ever been struck while jousting I have decided to make most my future horse armour from aluminium for the horses comfort.
